Walt is a seasoned business executive who builds value in firms by helping entrepreneurs cross the management bridge to become more effective leaders. Walt holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of NH and a degree in Finance from the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA. He has over 35 years of progressive business and management experience in many different industries with start-ups as well as small and medium –sized businesses and Fortune 500’s such as Met Life, Raytheon and MCI. His vast experience includes marketing, outside and inside sales in both consumer and B2B markets, customer service management, training of sales and service teams, individual coaching, product management and pricing, daily operational management, employee management, human resource management, new hire onboard training, employee benefits implementation and management and financial planning. Walt is an Executive Advisor accredited by the Institute of Independent Business.
With over 40 years of business experience in a variety of industries, Dick DiRose is a member of the Core Business Solutions advisory team. In Florida, Dick was the CEO for Bestway Insurance in Largo, Fl, were he created, developed and directed all marketing, operational, financial and sales activities for this multiple lines insurance agency which collected well over one million dollars in annualized premium.
He was also CEO of Galaxy Long Distance and created and directed all financial, marketing, sales and operational activities, selling national and international phone cards in all markets in the global marketplace and he developed both a world class customer service and companion sales department which generated over $3.6 million in annual sales. As CEO of Core Employer Services, Dick developed and directed all marketing, sales and operational plans and activities for this Professional Employer Organization that grew to become a 250 million dollar entity with over 3000 employees under management. Most recently Dick was the Regional CEO for Spectrum HR were he led, directed and served as the Licensed Controlling Person for the Florida Division and oversaw all day to day activities to include sales, operations, marketing and personnel management. He has also owned several very successful small businesses in the restaurant industry in the Buffalo, NY, area.
Research by both the Institute for Independent Business and by several academic organizations has indicated that the small business sector requires not only information and advice in order to survive and grow, but also needs practical assistance, preferably from more mature business executives who have been there, done that. In order to be effective, a practical implementation phase was also required.
It was also evident that traditional consultants were inappropriate and generally unable or unwilling to fulfill this need, as their cost structures and style were generally not appropriate to the small business sector. Many mature business executives have excellent skills and knowledge which can be deployed in the small business sector, if only the correct means of delivery could be established.
